The Bible is a guide to successful living. Through it we learn how to conduct our lives in order to enjoy an abundant and fruitful existence. It teaches us to recognize right from wrong and how to handle the various problems we all face in life. God’s word is a light to our lives, keeping us from stumbling through the darkness. (Ps 119:105). Without it, people will grope through this life, desperately yearning for stability and direction in living.
More importantly, however, the Bible presents God’s salvation to sinful man. The great theme of the Bible is Jesus Christ! From Genesis to Revelation, the Scriptures testify of Jesus. In Jn 5:39, Jesus said, “Search the scriptures . . . they are they which testify of Me.” II Tim. 3:15 teaches that the Bible is able to make us wise unto salvation through Jesus.
We read in Jn 20:31, “But these things are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.”
Read the Bible. Not every now and then but every day. Start with the Gospel of John. Let God speak to you through His written word.
