Elite Gym USA Gymnastics Team

The Elite Gym USA Gymnastics Team attended the State Gymnastics Competition April 21-23rin Carrollton. This competition had more than 1,000 competitors throughout Georgia. Elite brought home 6 State Champion Gold Medalists, 10 Silver, and 13 Bronze Medalists.

Old Clinton War Days scheduled May 6-7

Come to Old Clinton and once again take a step back in time May 6-7, when re-enactors from the South and elsewhere recreate the Battle of Sunshine Church, which took place in July 1864, and the Battle of Griswoldville, which occurred in November 1864 during Sherman’s March to the Sea.

Jones County gears up for National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer will be held in Jones County again this year at Carol’s Park in downtown Gray, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. to pray for the nation and the people. Debra Hall, the coordinator of the event, said in Gray they meet in the evening at Carol’s Park in downtown Gray behind the courthouse.

Colin Hall named first GCSU Truman Scholar

Colin Hall, a political science major with a minor in criminal justice from Jones County, is Georgia College & State University’s (GCSU) firstever Truman Scholar and was the only Georgia student to receive the scholarship this year.

Newsies Jr. coming this weekend

It is time to “Carry the Banner” with Jones County Arts’ spring production of Newsies Jr. Come and see the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, the charismatic leader of the newsies of Manhattan.

JME Excavation, a local excavation company, is available to help Jones County residents with their excavation needs. John McIntosh, the owner of JME Excavation, lives in Gray. He said he likes Jones County, because that’s all he really knows. He said his family really loves living in the county.
