2024 General Primary & Non-Partisan Election Results

With all precincts reporting as of Wednesday morning, Tuesday night's primary was favorable to incumbents. In the open District 2 seat on the Board of Education, Brady Skinner won over Rice Adams. Current board member Alfred Pitts chose to retire from the position.

District 2 Commissioner John Wood will retain his seat on the board along with Wendy Vaughn (District 3). Coroner Matt Jarrett  also cruised to victory. 

State Sen. Rick Williams also appears poised for re-election with a 90% margin over his opponent.

Ricky "Rick" Willaims (I) – 1,908 (90.43%)

State House District 149, Democrat
Floyd Griffin – 188 (60.84%)
Phyllis Tufts Hightower – 121 (39.16%)

Jones County Coroner
Matthew E. Jarrett (I) – 1,629 (75%)
Steve A. Johnson – 543 (25%)

County Commission District 2, Republican
Micah William Harley – 242 (34.72%)
M. John Wood (I) – 455 (65.28%)

County Commission District 3, Republican
Dan Howard – 163 (25.27%)
Wendy B. Vaughn – 482 (74.73%)

Board of Education District 2
Rice Adams – 203 (22.46%)
Brady Skinner – 701 (77.54%)
