What: Old Clinton War Days When: May 2-3, 2026 - Saturday from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Old Clinton, GA, just off US Hwy 129, south of Gray. The site is located at 412 Pulaski St, Gray, GA 31032 More Info: Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-18 and free for ages 5 and under. Visitors can watch and see such things as battle reenactments daily, (which honors soldiers from both sides in the area during Sherman’s March to the Sea.) explore period camps, and visit historic sites, including the McCarthy-Pope House c.1809. You have the opportunity to attend a Memorial Service at the Old Clinton Cemetery at Clinton Methodist Church and Church Service at the historic McCarthy-Pope House. There are food vendors and numerous craft vendors selling their items. There are also vendors selling civil war clothing and civil war items.

What: Evening with History: Central State Hospital When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Where: Allen’s Market, 101 Floyd L. Griffin Jr. St., Milledgeville More Info: Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at The Depot presents the history of mental health treatment and Central State Hospital, once the world’s largest mental institution, told through photographs of the decaying buildings by photographer, CSH historian, and Seeking Asylum author Jessica Whitehead.

What: Playdate & Resource Fair When: 9:30-11:30 a.m. Where: Water B. Williams Park, 59 Ga. Hwy. 22, Milledgeville More info: Organized by Walking with Moms in Need, supervised care and activities for children ages 3-6 will be available. Approximately 20 “information stations” will be staffed by local healthcare establishments and counseling services; outreach ministries and government agencies that provide material and financial assistance; budgeting help; and nutritional and child development resources to guide parents. Free tote bags included with free gifts for parents and kids. Reservations required to participate and receive childcare services, food, and prize drawing tickets.
