Christmas Walk through Woodland Acres a success

BALDWIN COUNTY

Woodland Acres at Robbins Farm hosted its first Christmas Light Walk Dec. 12 with a positive turnout.

The 10-12 minute lit walk circled the Christmas market with multiple vendors and featured multiple photo spots and an educational stop. Steven Crager of Crager Hills Farm, a local veteran owned business, was present with two micro Highland Chondro + Cows and a spotted baby doll ram that he taught about and let visitors in to interact with.

“The animals see me everyday but this gives them an opportunity to socialize with others and for others to learn more about them,” said Hill. “I enjoy partnering with our community and supporting events like this.”

The Christmas Light Walk was made up of homemade decorations to create a Christmas town, recycled displays, solar-powered lights, brand new lights, and lots of DIY creations by Robbins Farm owners Tommy and Maura Robbins.

As it was their first year opening the business, the event was hosted Dec. 12 and to be hosted Dec. 19 to introduce people to the business and start new annual traditions.

“We would love to make this an annual event that contributes to the holiday cheer around Christmas,” said Maura Robbins. “We are overwhelmed by the amount of support everyone has shown us and how many people showed up Dec. 12 to celebrate the season with us.”

Robbins thanked her partners including the vendors of the Christmas Market, the Milledgeville Singers Guild that performed carols outside the market, and Crager Hill Farms that provided the animals.

“It was truly a great night,” said Robbins.

The Christmas Light Walk will be open again Dec. 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 223 Cox Woodland Rd. NW in Milledgeville.
