First responders in Jones County showed up en masse for pre-K students to help celebrate their Community Helpers Day last week.
The event was held Oct. 5 at Jones County Pre-K and featured demonstrations of extrication tools, friendly firefighters, fire engines, ambulances, drug dogs, how to call 911 and more.
Pre-K Director Amy Marlowe said the visitors on campus included Dr. Melissa Middlebrooks from Georgia Power, Jones County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit, Jones County Department of Fire and Rescue, Gray Police Department, Gray Dental nurses Jessica Norris and Chyna Gasaway, and District Captain Collins Hanson from Atrium Ambulance.
She said Dairy Queen of Gray also donated ice cream to all pre-K students and staff.
“We enjoyed our Community Helper Day,” she said. “We learned so much and are so appreciative of everyone who came out to teach us about our community and the people who work here.”
