Greenwood Baptist Church is excited to announce that it will host the “TrueGirl Crazy Hair Tour,” an event designed for mothers and daughters ages 7-12 within the Jones County community.
This event will be March 23 at 6 p.m., and promises a variety of mother-daughter bonding activities, including interactive games, a fashion show, live music, and a bible session.
TrueGirl is a traveling ministry that tours across the United States, visiting churches that invite them to offer enriching experiences for women and girls in their communities, created by best-selling author Dannah Gresh.
Gresh invites mothers and daughters to join the TrueGirl tour.
“It is the most fun you’ll ever have digging into God’s word,” Gresh states.
Last year, TrueGirl’s theme was “Pajama Party Tour,” where attendees wore slumber-party attire. This year, the theme is “Crazy Hair Tour.” While a few volunteers will be on-site to assist, participants are encouraged to arrive with their craziest hairstyles. There will be photo opportunities to capture the memorable moments.
Jones County parent Leslie Gowan, who participated in last year’s TrueGirl tour, highly recommends the event to other mothers and daughters.
“It was a wonderful time of bonding with my daughter. The event helped me confirm what I’ve been teaching her about how special she is in God’s eyes. It encouraged her to be proud of the young woman she is,” Gowan said.
Jaymie Bailey, children’s director at Greenwood Baptist, provided insights into the event’s key features, including the fashion show and worship.
“The fashion show focuses on modesty and how to be comfortable and confident in what you wear,” Bailey added.
The church will provide clothes for the fashion show, and volunteer models will showcase the outfits during the event.
In addition to the fashion show, there will be dancing during worship to live tracks, encouraging mothers and daughters to celebrate the messages of the music together.
Bailey emphasized the significance of the event.
“It is so important for young girls to be able to identify how to stand boldly and live in biblical truth,” she said.
Tickets for the event are priced at $24 and can be purchased at www.crazyhairtour.com.
