This spring, Jones County Arts presents Disney’s Aladdin Jr. Join us in “A Whole New World” of magic and adventure following the story of the streetsmart “diamond in the rough,” Aladdin, played by Jacob Adams (9th grade) and his friends as they encounter a magic lamp containing a fun-loving, wisecracking genie, played by Elaina Gay (12th grade), who grants him three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of Jasmine, the strong-willed princess of Agrabah, played by Winter Miller (9th grade), Aladdin embarks on a journey that tests his heart of gold. Reserve your magic carpet seats today and prepare to be swept away.
The performances will be April 26-27 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 3 p.m. at the W.E. Knox Civic Center. Tickets are available for presale online at https://jonescounty. booxtix.com and must be purchased using a credit card. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door before each performance. Reserved seating is $15 for all ages, and general admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students.
The cast contains many talented actors and actresses from ages eleven to eighteen. The young performers have diligently worked to produce an entertaining production that will be a crowd-pleaser for all ages, with colorful characters, familiar tunes, and nonstop adventure.
Gay says, “No matter what show we put on, everyone comes prepared and ready to put on a spectacular performance, and Aladdin Jr. will be no different. Everyone works hard to transport the audience into another world with these shows, and I hope they allow us to take them into the magical world of Agrabah.”
