–George Sheffield “So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isa 55:11) The word of God comes from the mouth of God.
Our God is a God who speaks to us.
He spoke to the prophets and apostles and they wrote down what He spoke--the Bible.
His word, like the rain that waters the earth to produce seed and fruit, produces seed and fruit in our lives for His kingdom.
God’s word will not return to Him empty. It will accomplish His plans and nothing of this earth will stop it from doing so.
His word will prosper. God doesn’t speak just to hear Himself talk. His speech has power and it never fails His purpose.
God’s word will save you or it will judge you. It will prosper in one or the other. The same verse that can bring salvation, can pronounce judgment if that salvation is rejected.
Jn 3:16---God loves the world and sacrificed His Son. Whoever believes on Jesus will have eternal life in Heaven. But whoever spurns belief in Jesus will perish and have eternal death in Hell.
By His word He spoke creation into existence.
By His word, the universe continues to operate.
By His word people are saved or condemned. By His word God makes Himself known to us. Hear the word of God. He is speaking.
