The campaign against bullying is being celebrated by Gray-8-Stake in Gray with the hope that the message will spread throughout the community.
The owner and operator of the roller rink, Joel Shiver, said October is National Roller-Skating Month, and Gray-8-Stake has been participating in the month-long activities. That includes Unity Day, Oct. 22, in partnership with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.
The skating center will recognize Unity Day, a nationwide anti-bullying awareness initiative by promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Shiver said it’s the next big thing they are partnering with for National Roller-Skating Month.
“Friday, the 24th, we are having ‘Bring a Friend Day’ 6-10 p.m. featuring buy one, get one activities,” he said.
Shiver said roller-skating is more than just fun; it’s a lifestyle that promotes fitness, friendship, and joy.
The slogan for National Roller Skating Month is Lace Up, Wheels Down, Let’s Skate.
