Dispute over chicken
Officer Meeks responded to a local business in reference to a dispute.
Upon arrival, Meeks met with one of the business managers. The manager advised the officer that a female came in the business riding a motorized shopping cart and was at the selfcheckout purchasing her items when suddenly the female subject yelled at another customer across from her asking for money to pay for her chicken. The manager advised Meeks that at that time, she walked over to the customer and began to assist her with her check out. The manager noticed that there was a rotisserie chicken placed in the shopping bag, however, the chicken was not scanned so she started removing it from the female subject’s shopping bag. The manager stated as she was removing the chicken from the shopping bag, the female subject pushed the manager’s arm back from the shopping bag and placed the chicken back. The female subject then paid for the remaining items, then went to the back of the business on the motorized cart. At that time, the business manager advised Meeks that she wanted the female subject trespassed from the business. Officer Meeks went to locate the female subject, found her and asked her about the incident. The female identified herself and told the officer she had come to the business to do some shopping and get dinner. The female subject stated that after she had paid with her card, it was showing she still owed $2.75. The female subject also told the officer that she did not want the female employee touching her chicken due to diseases. Meeks spoke to the manager and the manager advised they wanted the female subject trespassed from the business.

Citation and warrant issued
Deputy Morgan was on patrol when he encountered a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. At that time, Morgan initiated his radar system and it showed the vehicle traveling at 70 MPH in a posted 45-MPH speed zone. Morgan activated his lights and siren, caught up to the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the female driver and male passenger. The female driver advised the deputy that she did not have her driver’s license then gave him her name. Morgan had the female driver exit the vehicle and went back to his patrol vehicle and ran her information through the GCIC system. The result of the check came back to show that her driver’s license was suspended. The deputy then returned to the female and placed her under arrest due to driving on suspended license.
Morgan then spoke to the male passenger and asked if he had a valid license to keep from having to tow the vehicle away.
The male passenger gave the deputy his information. During the conversation with the male passenger, Morgan smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and had the male exit the vehicle.
The male passenger advised the deputy that he had a firearm on him and made a sudden lunge for his waistline. Morgan pinned the subject up against the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs until he could recover the firearm. The deputy then proceeded to unload the weapon and rant the serial number through Dispatch.
Dispatch advised Morgan that the firearm was stolen via the Warner Robins, GA police department. The deputy mirandized the male passenger and the male stated, “he doesn’t want to talk anymore.” Morgan advised dispatch that he needed another unit for transport. Deputy Humphries arrived on scene to assist. The male subject then told Deputy Morgan that he needed to speak to him privately and the deputy and the male passenger stepped away to talk briefly. During the conversation with Morgan, the male passenger stated that he had given the deputy a fake name and advised what his real name was.
The male passenger was then placed in Deputy Humphries patrol car. Morgan notified dispatch that he needed the next available wrecker service to tow the vehicle. When the deputy conducted an inventory search of the vehicle, a small marijuana roach was located in the center console of the vehicle which was causing the odor of burnt marijuana. Nothing else of importance was found inside the vehicle. Both the female driver and male passenger was transported to the Jones County Jail.
The female driver was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended, and the male passenger was issued warrants for false name and date of birth, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a certain crime.
