A talented Jones County Arts cast is presenting a heartwarming production of Annie Jr. this weekend, just in time to spread the spirit of the holidays.
Performances will be at the W.E. Knox Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m.
Tickets are available for presale at jonescounty.booktix. com and must be purchased using a credit card. Tickets will also be available at the door before each performance. Reserved seating is $15 for all ages, and general admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students.
The audience will follow the story of little orphan Annie, played by Ariana Abney, as she navigates her “Hard-Knock Life” at the New York City Municipal Orphanage under the strict rule of Miss Hannigan, portrayed by Winter Miller. Annie dreams of reuniting with her parents. With her loyal dog, Sandy, Annie embarks on an adventure to the mansion of Oliver Warbucks, played by Ashton Hodges, with the help of his kind-hearted secretary, Grace Farrell, played by River Durden.
Ashton Hodges, a Jones County High School student playing Oliver Warbucks, shares his experience in the cast of Annie Jr.
“Every rehearsal is filled with people eager to get things done, and everyone is incredibly supportive. As our performances of Annie Jr. approach, I have seen that the spirit of helpfulness has only grown,” Hodges said.
