Questions and Answers for the candidates in the contested races in the May 21 Primary Election will be featured for the next two weeks in the News in order for voters to get to know them.
This week features the candidates for Jones County Coroner and Board of Education District 2. Incumbent Matt Jarratt is being challenged by Steve Johnson for coroner. Rice Adams and Brady Skinner are competing to replace Board of Education District 2 Alfred Pitts who is not running for re-election. A Jones County Candidate Forum is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. April 23 at Butler Hall to allow voters to meet and personally submit questions for the candidates.
Advanced voting for the May 21 Primary Election will take place April 29 through May 17 at the Jones County Elections Office, located in the Government Center, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last day to register to vote in the May 21 election is April 22.
