“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.” (Matt 10:29) Jesus was sovereign concerning His earthly life even before He entered this world physically. He was sovereign in where He would be born (Micah 5:2). He was sovereign concerning His mission on earth (Isa C53). He was sovereign over the death He would experience (Ps C22). He was sovereign over His resurrection (Ps 16:10).
As He lived His earthly life He was sovereign over it daily, never being late or early, always in the right place at the right time. He was sovereign over the choice of His disciples, even to the one who would betray Him (Jn 6:70). He was sovereign over the devil and demons, over all manner of diseases and mental issues (Mt 4:24), even sovereign over natural laws (Jn 6:19). He was sovereign over His arrest (Jn 18:5-6), trial (Jn 19:11), crucifixion (Jn 19:33,36), and death (Jn 10:18; Jn 19:28-30).
The world, other people, and circumstances did not have control over Jesus, He was sovereign over them!
Knowing the sovereignty of Jesus, you can relax in the fact that He is sovereign in your life. As Lord and He knows your life end from the beginning (Isa 46:10). As His child, your times are in His hand (Ps 31:15). So no matter what you are facing today, you can rest knowing that Jesus is sovereign over every detail of your life. “Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (Mt 10:31).
