The Central Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America is honoring Gray’s police chief next month in an event that is also a fundraiser for the organization. Gray Police Chief Adam Lowe is being presented the Golden Eagle Award by the Jones County Friends of Scouting Oct. 12.

The Jones County Library has a lot of activities going on now that summer reading is officially over and school is back in session. Branch manager Julie King said she’s been getting things ready for the library. She said they have a lot happening and a lot more planned for the near future.
