Wimbish pleads guilty for election bomb threat

A former Jones County poll worker received a prison sentence in federal court last week after pleading guilty in February to the charge of conveying false information and making hoaxes.Nicholas Wimbish received a sentence of 20 months to serve in prison, followed by one year of supervised release.

Nurse manager to retire; reflects on her career

Council rolls back millage rate, amends sign ordinance

City Council members agreed on a proposed millage rate, amended the city’s sign ordinance and recognized a new firefighter at their September meeting.Mayor Ed Barbee called the Sept. 8 meeting to order. The opening prayer was led by Gray Fire Department Chaplin Lt. Aubrey Register.
