Georgia author visits Library

Georgia-based author and columnist Katie Hart Smith will visit the Jones County Library for a special book signing event celebrating her latest Southern fiction novel, Go Light the World. The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Jones County Library, located at 146 Railroad Street, Gray.

National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week is November 17-24. Greenwood Baptist Church at 3400 Gray Hwy, Gray, GA 31032 is the drop-off location for your filled shoeboxes in Jones County. The drop off is open during the following hours: Mon., Nov. 17 10:00 a.m.

A Very Crafty Christmas

Messiah Performances

George Frideric Handel’s Messiah has been celebrated as a musical observance of the Advent and Christmas season for more than two centuries. This event is a long-standing tradition for Middle Georgia as a beginning of the Christmas season. The Choral Society of Middle Georgia, the Mercer University Choir, featured soloists, and orchestra will present Handel’s masterpiece at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Macon, under the direction of Dr. Gary G. Gerber.

The concert is offered on two nights: Thurs., Dec 4, and Fri., Dec. 5. The time for both nightsis7:30p.m. Thebeauty and holiness of St. Joseph Catholic Church brings even greater magnificence to the Messiah. Thechurchislocated at 830 Poplar Street in Macon.

Admission is $15 per person.
