    Another state title now calls Jones County home.

    After claiming a Little League district coach pitch title last weekend, Jones County’s team of all stars headed to the Atlanta area this past weekend and came home as state little league coach pitch champions.

    The title came after they bounced back from some early adversity.

    Although Jones County started play with a 12-8 loss to Sewell Park out of Cartersville, they bounced back quickly, turning around to beat all stars from Evans 12-1. All of that set the stage for Sunday’s title game, won 9-3 for Jones County, giving players, coaches and supporters the thrill of being state champions.

    The championship roster is comprised of Kohen Bell, Marc Earwood, Hayes Hartzog, Bradley Heath, Luke May, Gunner Moody, Mason Pitts, Ben Quick, Dax Sheldon, Jaxon Tate, Christian Tisa and Eli Westbrook.

    Little League all-star tournaments continue next week for multiple other local teams. Both 8-10 softball and baseball are scheduled to begin their tournaments June 19 with games scheduled to be at Vine Ingle in Macon.

    Senior league baseball’s district tournament begins June 26 at Warner Robins American Little League with senior league softball slated for starting June 19 at Vine Ingle. Dates and times are subject to change.
