Franklin C. “Lin” Turner

Franklin C. “Lin” Turner, a beloved resident of Jones County, was born on February 6, 1951, in Macon, GA, and peacefully passed away at home on November 12, 2023, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family.

The Turner family received friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life in honor of Lin was held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel, with interment following at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The service was officiated by Rev. Tim Peavy and Rev. Chris Keys.

Lin was the proud owner of 49 Wrecker Service for many years, leaving an indelible mark on the community. Known for his loving nature, infectious humor, and adventurous spirit, Lin approached life with a passion that was truly remarkable. He lived each day as a new adventure, finding joy in the simple pleasures and cherishing the moments spent with family and friends.

His love for car racing, especially dirt track racing, was a testament to his adventurous spirit. Lin’s dedication to his wrecker company was evident in every aspect of his life. He had a unique sense of humor, finding joy in the simple pleasures like the humor in “herkin and jerkin.” His wife’s role in cracking crab legs for him added a touch of humor to their daily lives. Lin was a selfless individual, a good provider, and someone who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Tom Turner; daughter, Chevy Turner (Zac Degler); his best friend, Bob White; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Lin was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel Turner, and a brother, Frank White Turner. Honoring Lin as pallbearers are Brock Wise, Manuel Ramirez, Zac Degler, Shane Moody, Lane Adams, and Rodney Stewart.
