Jones County's football game at Stockbridge, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed to Saturday at 2 p.m, joining a handful of other games around the state postponed as Hurricane Helene approaches middle Georgia.
Saturday's game will be the Greyhounds' third Saturday game in as many seasons following games against Northside in the Macon Touchdown Club Kickoff Classic in 2022 and 2023.
Both teams enter with a 4-1 record with the Tigers, last year's AAAA runner-up, being 4-0 in the region with wins against Hampton, Locust Grove, Eagles Landing and McDonough. The Greyhounds are 3-1 in region play with region wins against Woodland, Union Grove and Hampton.
A win on Saturday by JCHS would give them a head-to-head tiebreaker against Union Grove and Stockbridge should the teams be tied at the end of the regular season.
