Marshall outruns more experienced competition at state championships

In a field of more than 1,000 runners, Jones County fifthgrader Madison Marshall finished fifth in her division and 29th overall at Saturday’s state cross country championships in Bleckley County with a time of 14:00.75. She was also the highest-finishing runner from Jones County, which entered runners from both Gray Station and Clifton Ridge Middle Schools.
