The kickoff for an event that brings an unforgettable evening for special needs individuals in the community was a great success thanks to the generosity of a local business and the support of the people of Jones County.
Work has already begun to make sure the annual Bradley Baptist Church Night to Shine scheduled Feb. 7, 2025, is another successful event.
The NTS kickoff and fundraiser took place Oct. 6 at Dairy Queen of Gray and met its goal of $20,000. Brandy Round spoke on behalf of Bradley Baptist Church to thank Justin Kelly and the community for showing up and supporting the Night to Shine and the fundraiser.
Round said NTS is an annual event put on by Bradley Baptist and the Tim Tebow Foundation to host a prom night for special needs kids in and around Jones County.
“Countless volunteers and businesses get involved to make it a wonderful evening for all the guests,” she said.
Round said it takes roughly $20,000 to put this event on.
“With #ourtown and Dairy Queen coming together, our goal was to raise enough funds in one evening to host this magical night for special needs kids.”
She said Dairy Queen donated every cent made between 5-9 p.m. to Night to Shine.
“We also had people that wrote checks, gave cash and even gave online at bbcgray.org/give. This was our second time doing this, and Jones County did not disappoint,” Round said.“We reached our goal of $20,000 in a record time of two hours and 27 minutes. Bradley Baptist can’t thank everyone enough for coming out, showing your support, sharing our social media posts and helping to get the word out.”
Round said continuing information, updates and registration opportunities for the upcoming event will be available on the church’s website, bbcgray. org.
“NTS Feb. 7, 2025, will be here before you know it,” she said.
