Friday night was already pegged to be memorable at Greyhound Field with recognition planned for seniors across all fall sports at Jones County High School. But for one JCHS senior, it was a moment that he and his family will never forget.
Corey Williams, a senior on the Greyhounds football team, got an even fonder memory after he was introduced by football public address announcer Lance Pittman.
Following the introduction for Williams and he and his family making their way down the center of the field, he got an even bigger surprise as his sister, Jaida, currently stationed in California as part of her military service, ran up from behind and greeted Corey, receiving rousing applause from the JCHS crowd.
Williams’ post-graduation plans include following in the steps of his sister and joining the military.
