R. N. “Butch” Reece was sworn in to begin his 12th four-year term as Jones County Sheriff Dec. 30. Reece started his 45th year as Jones County Sheriff Jan. 1. The date also marked the beginning of his 53rd year in law enforcement, which has all been with the JSCO. He was joined at the ceremony by his wife Linda, daughter Kerri Sweeney and grandsons Max and Reece. The sheriff was sworn in by Probate Judge Lewis Patterson, who also gave the oath to Earl Humphries as Chief Deputy. CONTRIBUTED
