It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Russell Sean Waters on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Sardis, Georgia. Russ was born on February 16, 1975, in Macon, Georgia, and his spirit touched the lives of many.
Russ was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly his passion for hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours enjoying the bass circuit and fishing along the Tennessee River, where he found peace and joy. His deep love for nature was matched only by the kindness he showed to those around him. Russ’s heart was as big as his smile, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.
Russ’s family was his world, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his parents, Russell and Pamela Waters; his sisters, Nicole Wynn (Matt) and Tonya Lord (Shaun); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A gathering of family and friends to honor and celebrate Russ’s life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Gray Memorial Chapel.

Russ will be remembered for his generous spirit, his warm heart, and the joy he brought to every moment. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
