Jones County wrestler Arrie Martin will wrestle for a state championship on Friday.
In the first day of the GHSA state traditional state tournament on Thursday at the Macon Coliseum, Martin made it through his half of the 150-pound bracket, taking a 5-4 win in Thursday's semifinal to advance to Friday night's first-place match.
Friday's championship matches are set to tentatively begin at 9 p.m.
Freshman Noah Pieterick enters Friday with a chance to finish near the forefront. He won his first two matches on Thursday in the 113-pound division before falling in the semifinals. Pieterick will wrestle in Friday's consolation semifinals and can finish as high as third.
Friday's consolation semifinals will begin at 6 p.m. with consolation finals to follow.
