Daniel “Danny” F. Moore, 81, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Millington, TN, from natural causes.
Danny was born June 26, 1944, in Enid, OK.
Raised in Warner Robins, GA, Danny graduated from Warner Robins Senior High School in 1962. After working as a parts manager for Charlie Pike Chevrolet in Warner Robins, Ga, Danny joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, April 1991.
An avid NASCAR fan, Danny loved genealogy and researching his family history.
Danny is survived by his loving daughter, Melinda Fran Moore, stepdaughter, Kristi Ann Whitten (Russell), stepsons, Jerry John McGovern and Jay William McGovern (Leigh), siblings, Lynette M. McCurdy (Horton) and Cheryl Ann Chumbley (Mike), several nieces and nephews, and 57 grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and greatgreat grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his loyal and faithful canine companion, Lucy, with Paul and Emily McGovern, secure in the knowledge Lucy will be loved and cared for as Paul and Emily cared for him.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Cyril Moore and Pauline Richardson Moore, wife, Janice “Jan” Murial Owen McGovern Moore, daughter, Melissa Faye Moore, and stepson, Joseph Michael McGovern.
A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Morrie’s Tavern, Millington, TN.
A memorial service will be held at the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Milledgville, GA at date to be determined.
In Danny’s memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s hospital or the American Cancer Society.
