Brenda Joyce Grimes, aged 78, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Friends are invited to pay their respects at the residence of Derek and Kimberly Grimes, 507 Henderson Road, Macon, GA 31217. A celebration of Joyce’s life luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Gray Methodist Church at 1:00 PM. A private burial service will take place at Henderson Stripling Cemetery.
Born on Oct. 19, 1945, in Bibb County, Mrs. Grimes spent her entire life in Jones County. She was the daughter of the late Thomas B. Foster and Annie H. Foster. A devoted member of Gray Methodist Church, she retired from Bibb County Superior Court Judges. Additionally, she was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and dedicated more than two decades to catering weddings in her spare time. Mrs. Grimes is survived by her husband of 61 years, Steve Grimes; siblings Mary Watts, Nancy Clay, and Tommy (Rita) Foster; children Darrell, Doug (Shayna), and Derek (Kimberly) Grimes, and Denise (Travis) Steed; grandchildren Bin (Shannon), Brandon (Laura), Olivia, Dawson, Steven, and Misti Grimes, and Clint (Brooke) and Dalton Terry; great-grandchildren Grayson Terry, Ripken Grimes, and Timothy Jones; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brightmoor Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210, Gray Methodist Church, 117 S Jefferson Street, Gray, GA 31032, or the donor’s charity of choice.
