Frederick Earl Harrison, 75, of Jones County, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial followed the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia.

Mr. Harrison was born on November 16, 1949, in Norman Park, Georgia, to the late James Wesley Harrison and Winnie Wyelne Herrington Harrison. He attended Jones County High School, where he was a proud member of the football team. His passions were many, but he found particular joy in fishing and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.

Faith played a significant role in Mr. Harrison’s life. He devoted many years to Greenwood Baptist Church, previously known as Shurling Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and embracing the fellowship of his church family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Nelva Manning Harrison; son, Jon Harrison, Sr.

(Valerie); daughter, Julie Harris; grandchildren: Jessica Cannon (Wesley), Breanna Temples (Caleb), Wesley Harrison, Tyler Burke (Haleigh), Sierra Burke (Lensie), and Britton Burke; great grandchildren: Elijah, Wyatt, Raelynn, Sophia, Zane, Waylon, Lagen, and Everleigh; brother, James Harrison (Deborah); sister, Debra Brantley; sister-in-law, Wanda Parrish; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Harrison; and siblings, Roy Harrison, Betty Faye Smith, Carl Harrison, Cecil Harrison, Ben Harrison, Margie Avant, Raymond Harrison, and Stanley Harrison.
