Glenn Russell Gordon

Sept. 27, 1945 - May 18, 2025

Glenn Russell Gordon, a man known for his humor, wisdom, and unwavering heart, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Atrium Navicent Health following a brief illness. He was 79 years old. A graveside service to honor and celebrate his life was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, with Dr. Greg Thompson officiating.

Born on September 27, 1945, Glenn was the beloved son of the late Ivey Russell Gordon and Dorothy Conner. He grew up in a loving home and graduated from Lanier High School for Boys. Glenn spent over three decades working with dedication and skill at Procter and Gamble, retiring as a Technician 5. Glenn was a longtime member of The Gathering in Gray and lived his life full of faith, laughter, and purpose. He was a man who never met a stranger, kind, compassionate, quick with a joke or a clever comeback. Even when he was wrong, somehow, he was still right. He had an unshakable confidence, a deep love for life, and a playful spirit that brought joy to everyone around him.

He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and spent countless happy days fishing, hunting, and simply enjoying nature. He also had a legendary charm, known to flirt with a twinkle in his eye and a grin that warmed hearts.

Glenn was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Nancy Ann Gordon; his brother, Danny Gordon; and his lifelong best friend, David Fowler Sr.; and great grandchild, Kierstyn Fowler. Though we grieve their loss, we find comfort in knowing they are reunited. He leaves behind a family and circle of friends who will carry on his legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. Surviving him are his sister, Judy Gay (Alan), and their children, Todd and Shelley; his cherished grandson, David (Morgan) Fowler, and their children, Ariel, Melody and David III. Glenn also leaves behind special friends who were like family; Fleming Anderson, Carol Fowler, Brandy Walden (Shawn), Johnny Meth, Linda Hurst, Paula Bowden, nephew; Keith (Vicki) Lopez and their children Travis, Chevy Forehand, and Christine Rollins.

In honoring Glenn’s wishes, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, a cause close to his heart.

Glenn Russell Gordon lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of laughter, strength, and faith. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
