Karen Melissa Thomas was born to the parentage of Theotis Thomas and Katie Tufts Thomas on Nov. 26, 1971. She gained her heavenly wings and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, in Canton, Georgia.
The Rev. Michael Burney officiated the service.
Karen attended public schools in Jones County, and graduated from Jones County High School in Gray, Georgia. She received her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating, she began her career as a Civil Engineer, and managed various engineer projects withing the state of Georgia.
Karen was united in holy matrimony to Keith Schroeder, and to this union two lovely children, Taylor and Avery were born.
Karen was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her memories remain to be cherished by her husband, Keith Schroeder; children, Taylor Schroeder, and Avery Schroeder all of Atlanta, GA; parents, Theotis and Katie Thomas of Gray, GA.; one sister, Vickie Thomas of Atlanta, GA; goddaughter, Jodie Billings and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Jones Brothers Memorial Chapel in Macon, GA was honored with the arrangements.
