Both Clifton Ridge and Gray Station continued into the early part of the basketball season with a buzz last Thursday with the two teams taking on one another in the first of two scheduled regular-season contests. CRMS hosted last week with Gray Station scheduled to host on Jan. 24.
Gray Station won the boys game in a back-and-forth contest, prevailing 36-33. Marquintin Pitts led Gray Station (3-1) with 20 points, and Cavaso Greene added seven.
Gray Station took control early to win the girls game 39-11 to improve to 2-0 on the season. GSMS was led by Destinee Dumas with 11 points and Liberty Pennamon’s eight.
Clifton Ridge hosts Upson Lee on Dec. 1 with Gray Station hosting Pike County on Nov. 29.
