The home course was very good to Jones County’s middle school runners as part of Saturday’s Rancher’s Release The Hounds Invitational, with the girls winning first and the boys placing second. Madison Marshall led the Lady Hounds to place first on a time of 14:15.62. Not too far behind, however, were Raelyn Harris, Annabel Marchand, and Taegan Pierce in fourth, sixth, and eighth on times of 15:22:19, 15:41.66, and 16:09.29. Aubree Tam also ran to a 16:40.93 time that was good for 13th overall. Colton Gordon was the top boys’ runner for Jones County, taking fifth on a time of 13:03.31, one spot in front of Easton Belshan’s 13:03.64. Bentley Cook and Knox Watson also finished neckand- neck thanks to times of 14:07.13 and 14:11.67. Both teams will host the region meet on Sept. 30.
