    A handful of Jones County middle school runners showed their mettle in Saturday’s New Balance Running Lane Championships, seizing the opportunity to compete on a national stage.

    Madison Marshall, Kennedy Marshall, and Easton Belshan all took part, with Madison Marshall’s two-mile time of 12:23 picking up a second-place finish and setting a personal record for the second time this season.
