Middle school boys second, girls fourth at Greyhound Invitational

Saturday’s Greyhound Invitational wrapped up with middle school runners taking to the two-mile version of the course. By the time that both races ended, runners from Jones County snagged finishes near the top with the girls finishing second and the boys taking home a team finish of fourth.

Gray Station Middle School defeated Jasper County 10-5 last week. Peyton Pounds was the winning pitcher with Kadi Sargent and Raylee Harris going 2-for-3 to lead the way at the plate.

Volley Hounds nab first region win with sweep

The Volley Hounds snagged their first region win of the season last week, sweeping Dutchtown. After getting things going with a 25-13 win in the first set, Jones County kept the pressure on, winning 25-16 for a 2-0 sweep. JCHS dropped its match to Ola by way of a pair of 25-16 defeats.

Hounds ‘dominate the change,’ rout Locust Grove
