Bowden, Ray come through for resilient Greyhounds

Greyhounds thankful for time to rest, heal

When the Greyhounds play Friday night in Augusta against Josey, it’ll be their first game in 13 days. It’s a layoff that Jones County, which is 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the region, has no issue with.

Greyhounds making final tweaks before region duals

For the most part, the time for fine-tuning and tweaking is almost complete for the Greyhounds on the wrestling mat.Since falling short of advancing to last year’s GHSA state wrestling duals, redemption has been on Jones County’s mind. The time to cash in those payoff chips is almost here.

COUNTY RECREATION

Baseball and softball registration is underway for both the Highway 18 and Highway 49 complexes.Jones County Little League registration for the 2026 season at the Highway 18 ballpark is now open online and extends through Jan. 31.

Greyhounds split pair of close region games

The close games giveth, and the close games taketh away.A pair of region contests went straight down to the wire for Jones County last week during a region campaign that’s already been marked by the Greyhounds finding themselves in situations with a slim margin of error.

Two region wins keep Lady Hounds in thick of race for lead

The Lady Greyhounds might as well have been wearing a doctor’s white coat in last week’s return to region play. Jones County found the best way to get itself well in the region standings following its first region loss of the year.
