Douglas, Jordan and Scott sign scholarships

Kaden Douglas, Jaleel Jordan and Robert Scott have one thing in common through having been part of the Greyhounds’ recent pushes into the postseason.They now have another common thread following last week as all three signed national lettersof- intent to continue their athletic careers.

Greyhounds defense enjoying flattened learning curve

Three former JCHS standouts heading to super regionals

In the postseason level of college baseball and softball, the super regional round is the one thing standing between a chance to play among the sport’s best in the world series.A combined three former JCHS standouts find themselves in that position after last weekend.

Volley Hounds see lots of enthusiasm via tryouts

This August will mark the fifth season of volleyball for the Lady Greyhounds as a program. Although the opening of that season may be a few months away, an important first step was taken last week with the Volley Hounds spanning across the JCHS gymnasium for three days of tryouts.

Greyhounds show plenty to build from in spring game against Panthers

Spring football games are hardly a full-course meal when it comes to looking ahead to the fall. They do, however, provide an appetizer of sorts, a glance at what key elements will be the focal point as the calendar leads into the summer of workouts and other team activities.

Runner-Up by Hanks, third place by girls 4x800 relay lead at state

CARROLLTON Continued bad luck, this time by way of an injury, derailed Jones County from going for the win in the boys 100-meter relay and 4x100 relay at last week’s GHSA Class AAAAA state track championships in Carrollton.

Kent qualifies for state

The multi-sport Lady Greyhound career of Kimber Kent will last a bit longer.By way of her round of 84 in last week’s GHSA golf sectionals, the senior will advance as an individual to the GHSA Class AAAAA state tournament, set for Monday and Tuesday in Waycross.

Ridley to continue golf career at Fisk

Over the past few seasons, one constant leader for the Greyhounds golf program has been that of Ben Ridley. His impact was enough to gain the eye of Fisk University.
