The Lady Greyhounds saw their season come to an end on the GHSA Class AAAAA girls state tennis tournament last week, losing to Harris County 4-1.And although there’s a degree of letdown for any season coming to its conclusion, there’s plenty of excitement around the Lady Greyhounds tennis program.

Homecoming: JC native Gray eager to lead Lady Hounds

The messages have been pretty much non-stop for Takeo Gray. A 1998 JCHS graduate and former player and assistant coach for the Greyhounds, he was announced last Tuesday night as the Lady Greyhounds new head basketball coach.

Community meet & greet with new coaches

JCHS will host a community meet and greet with both of its new head basketball coaches at 7 p.m. April 23 in the JCHS cafeteria. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and hear from both Takeo Gray and Willie Reese.

Reese brings plenty of accolades to Greyhounds’ sideline

He was on an ACC championship team with teammates including Mark Price and John Salley. He coached on and recruited a majority of the players for Georgia Tech’s 2004 national runner-up team.

Hounds take two from Locust Grove

JCHS snaps eight-game streak against WildcatsBefore Friday, Jones County was in a position where it could likely drop its final five games of the regular season, backing into the postseason.There’s none of that for the Greyhounds after last Friday, however.

The Lady Greyhounds are bound for the state tennis tournament once again. Jones County rolled into last week’s region tournament in McDonough needing to finish as one of the region’s top four teams to advance to the state tourney.They did just that, coming in third.
