Greyhounds don’t roll over easily in loss to Eagles Landing

The string of region matches officially started for the Greyhounds on Friday as Eagles Landing came to town. Facing a team averaging five goals per game, Jones County dug its heels in even after the Golden Eagles got on the board within a few minutes and led 3-0 at halftime.

Gym Hounds setting table for strong finish in home stretch

The Gym Hounds posted strong overall and individual finishes on Friday at Ola, coming in second among teams in AAAAA and fifth among teams between AAAAA and AAAAAAA, thanks to six finishes by JCHS gymnasts of third or better.

CRMS belts four homers in winThe long ball was very good to the Clifton Ridge Cougars last Friday in an 8-7 win against Pike County. The Cougars hit a total of four homers with the round-trippers coming from Ethan Jones, Ryder Crumbley, Caleb Gooden and Cruz Hasty.

The JCHS track teams left Saturday’s Eagles Landing Chick-fil-A Invitational with plenty to cluck about.Fueled by top finishes in short and long-distance events as well as in the field events on the boys side, the Greyhounds finished second among 17 teams with the Lady Hounds coming in fourth.
