Dustin Faulkner, a Milledgeville local, has taken over the Allstate Insurance business in Milledgeville and is now representing the area as an agent.
The business is located at 3006 Heritage Road NE in Milledgeville, and is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To reach Faulkner, call 478- 452-8827.
Faulkner said he has lived in Milledgeville his entire life, and his grandparents are from Milledgeville, too. He said he has relatives all over the Middle Georgia area.
“It’s a small town, and you really know a lot of people when you live here your entire life. It’s comforting to know them. It’s a great place to live,” the agent said.
He said he took over the local Allstate Insurance business from Bruce Dempster. He said he has some huge shoes to fill, since Dempster was great at what he did. He said all of Dempster’s employees are still working at the local office.
“I moved to Nashville to take a job in the finance world there about six years ago, but my kids still lived in Milledgeville. Last June I started looking for something else to be closer to home with the pandemic and everything,” he said. “I called up some friends about Allstate, and saw that Bruce put up his place for sale.”
The agent said he took it as a sign to take over the local Milledgeville Allstate business, so he got his license and did everything he was supposed to do. He said he took over the business in March.
“When you go online, you might not get the insurance coverage you need, because there is no agent. We’ve really been harping on that local expertise you can count on with Allstate, so people should really come into the office,” he said.
Faulkner said since he did corporate finance for so long, he knew business and management. He said the people in the office have been teaching him the ropes, which he is thankful for. He said even though he is now the owner of the business, he’s taken on a sales role.
The agent said people should do business with him, because it adds a personal touch to their insurance shopping experience as opposed to doing everything online. He said they can help people figure out what they really need. He said they offer property insurance, casualty insurance, life insurance, health insurance, auto insurance, renters’ insurance, and much more.
“Allstate is a great company. I’m from Milledgeville, and I know a lot of people who come in,” Faulkner said. “I get to reconnect with people. I want to hand the business down to my kids someday, and insurance will always be around.” For more information about Faulkner and the local Allstate,
