District 3 Commissioner Wendy Vaughn took the trophy for the district collecting the most trash. Top right: Chairman Chris Weidner made a tongue-incheek attempt to claim all the trash collections countywide but was quickly over-ruled. Bottom: Vaughn quietly accepted the announcement that District Three was the winner for the second year in a row. Jones County was the biggest winner with 166 bags of trash picked up during the event and 246 old tires removed from the streets. The annual event took place May 20 with lunch provided by Dairy Queen of Gray and Stone Gables Farms.
