Fowler named employee of the year for Smith Communications

Smith Communications, parent company for The Eatonton Messenger, Lake Oconee News, The Baldwin Bulletin and The Jones County News, held a company- wide business meeting April 14, at Rock Eagle’s Founders’ Lodge, where Smith Communications Business Manager Cassandra Fowler received the company’s inaugural Employee of the Year award.

Fowler is a 17-year veteran of Smith Communications and was selected by employee votes from both Smith Communications and Oconee/Sinclair Media.

“This award was established to honor outstanding employees in remembrance of our son, A. Mark Smith Jr., and is based on demonstrating outstanding traits such as dedication, team effort, cooperation, and always valuing what’s best for our companies,” Smith Communications President and CEO A. Mark Smith Sr. said.

“Cassandra has been an outstanding employee for many years and I am very happy to recognize her vital contributions to our success. I thank her.”
