A Jones County man is facing multiple sex offender charges following an ongoing sexual exploitation of children investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
David Allen Dillard, 50, was arrested May 17 and charged with posting laws on tobacco sales; sexual exploitation of children – creation or possession visual medium depicting minor in sexual situation; two counts of sexual exploitation of children – possession or control any material depicting minor in sexually explicit situation; and possession firearm by convicted felon or first offender.
A May 23 press release from the GBI states that its Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit with the assistant of the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, the GBI Milledgeville Field Office and the GBI Middle Georgia Gang Task Force executed a warrant pertaining to an ongoing investigation.
The release stated that the investigation started after multiple cyber tips were received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tips involved the possession of and/or distribution of explicit child sexual abuse material, commonly known as child pornography.
JCSO Deputy John Kile accompanied the GBI and assisted with Dillard’s arrest.
The investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to identify those involved in the child pornography trade.
