Jenkins now leading West Clinton Family Dentistry

BUSINESS NEWS

A local dental office is under new management with the former management sticking around to enjoy watching the transition.

The name of the office of Dr. Kenneth Kay DMD has been changed to West Clinton Family Dentistry.

In a recent interview with the doctor, he explained that Dr. Jake Jenkins is now in charge of the practice.

Kay has been a dentist for 40 years and has operated his practice in Gray since 2008. He said he decided last year it was time to slow down, and he began looking for the person who could take over in the future.

Kay said his first practice was in Marietta, which he left after 16 years to move to Gray.

Jenkins, the new man in charge, grew up in Georgia and earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech before graduating from The Dental College of Georgia.

The two were brought together in an unusual way. Jenkins’ grandmother was a patient of Kay’s practice and told him about Jenkins, who finished second in his class. She gave Kay her grandson’s number, and their first conversation was two hours long.

Jenkins joined the Gray practice in June 2025, and after a year, Kay decided he had found the right man to take care of his practice and patients.

“I had to find the right person who will continue my tradition of taking care of people,” he said.

Kay, who is now 67, plans to work in the office for two days a week for now, but he made it clear that Jenkins in now in charge.

Jenkins is a recipient of the Hanua “Best of the Best” Award in Prosthodontics. He is a member of the ADA, GDA, and the dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon.

He provides comprehensive, patient-centered care with a focus on family and cosmetic dentistry.

Jenkins said he considers his family’s move to Gray an escape from Atlanta. He and his wife Olivia have a two-year old and are expecting their second child. Olivia’s family lives in Milledgeville.

Jenkins said he has always had the goal of having a small-town family practice dental office.

“I’ll be running the day-to-day office. We will provide the same service of family dentistry, and the plan is to offer preventative care in the future.

“The biggest thing is there will be the same faces, same location and same team providing care,” he said.

The office of West Clinton Family Dentistry is located at 250 W. Clinton Street, Suite 5. For more information, call 478-986-1830 or visit the website www.wclintondentistry. com.
