Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to the 24-25 JCHS school year! Our faculty and staff have been working hard all summer to make JCHS a wonderful environment for student learning. There are a few updates to our school information I would like to share with you below.
• TheupdatedJCHS 24-25 Student Handbook can be found online in the “Academics” section on the school web page.
Please adhere to the new dress code expectations regarding Leggings and Shorts.
• Studentscanbring bookbags to school and carry them throughout the school day. Lockers will not be issued.
• Studentscanarriveon campus beginning at 7:15 a.m., and dismissal is at 3:15 p.m.
• Adetailedmapof drop-off/pick-up procedures will be posted on our webpage as well as on our school Facebook page prior to Thursday, August 1st. Please adhere to the cones, signage, and direction provided by JCHS staff and Jones County Sheriff’s Office/Police Dept.
Please do not drop off/ pick up in the front of the school. Please be patient. Our drop-off and pickup times will improve with time.
• Studentsshouldnot remain on campus after 3:30 p.m., unless under the direction supervision of a teacher or coach.
• Parentconferences will be scheduled after school hours whenever possible. Virtual/Phone conferences are still available for those who prefer that option.
• Gradelevelmeetings/ convocations will take place the first week of school to review all the JCHS student expectations and procedures.
It is an honor and blessing for me to serve as your principal and provide leadership with my Jones County High School family. I have a strong passion for helping everyone find their purpose and using it to improve themselves and others. The quality of your child’s education and their well-being is our focus, and we will all work together to fulfill the high expectations needed to be successful in today’s world. Thank you for your support as we strive for excellence in all we do at JCHS. We are committed to our students’ achievement both inside and outside of the classroom and are always looking to continuously improve.
Our commitment to you as parents is that teachers will take the time to establish relationships with your student, learning as much as possible about their individual learning styles and needs.
We ask that you remain involved in your student’s education, checking their grades regularly through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, and coordinating improvement efforts with teachers, counselors, and admin when needed. Please feel free to contact your student’s teachers, counselors, and school administrator with any questions or concerns. We sincerely appreciate your partnership and support and look forward to a great school year. Our doors are always open!
