The Jones County News salutes the local Veteran of the Week

Richard Combs is the local veteran of the week. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1965 - 1991, achieving the rank of colonel.

He was in the combat infantry and was also a platoon commander in Vietnam during the late 1960s.
