The Kiwanis Club of Jones County presented Scout Troop 485 with a check for $5,000 representing part of the proceeds from the Francis Golson Memorial Golf Tournament. Over $2,000 will be given to the Eston Altman Scouting Center. Both Golson and Altman were long time members of the Kiwanis Club, which has been in continuous service in Jones County for 89 years. Shown are John Henry Mullis, Troop 485 assistant, Josh Drehr, Max Wood, Scoutmaster, Charles Newberry, Kiwanis President, and Joe Mullis. President Newberry thanked Kiwanian Sara Wood for chairing the golf committee and Max Wood for his work with the scouts.
