“hating even the garment spotted by the flesh--Jude 1:23 Jude warns us to hate even our garments being “spotted by the flesh“--stained with sin. During so called pride month, some major league baseball players were forced to wear uniforms promoting homosexuality. Three Christian players who were required to wear ball caps with the pride logo on them, in opposition, wrote scripture over or near the patch. Gen 9:12-16 which explains the true meaning of the rainbow. Another player just refused to wear the cap and wore his regular cap instead.
Jude tells us to not let even our clothing become stained with sin and promoting the sin of homosexuality is spotting such clothing.
We also see T-shirts and other clothing promoting all kinds of sin--drinking, weed, profanity, immorality, even blasphemy. And some of the clothes people wear are “spotted” in that they are immodest clothing.
The spotted garments are a reflection of a spotted heart.
Jesus taught what comes out of the heart is what defiles a person (Mk 7:21-23). Sin comes from the heart; the clothing only advertises what’s in the heart. Check your garments. Repent of the sin stained ones and “put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom 13:14) by believing on Him.
His garment is salvation; the spotted garments are damnation.
