“without faith it is impossible to please God“ (Heb 11:6) The atheists demand evidence. Won’t believe if God can’t be proven.
Talk about God and they will respond that you are just making unsubstantiated claims. Where’s the proof? Show them proof, they may well believe.
Jesus taught that evidence, miracles, proof will not produce belief.
He did endless miracles in the sight of the Pharisees, yet they would not believe. He said, “if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” (Lk 16:31). If people will not believe the Bible, the word of God delivered by Moses, the prophets, and the Apostles, then they won’t believe a miracle like the resurrection.
God has set it up that we relate to Him by faith more than anything else. He’s the Creator. He sets the rules. It pleases Him that we take Him at His word. But witnessing a miracle in order to believe, doesn’t please God. Believing He exists and believing His word, without the miracles, does.
