“The wicked shall be turned into hell. And all the nations that forget God.” (Ps 9:17) When a nation turns away from God--forgets God--that nation will be turned into hell. If you resist God, then all that’s left is hell. It becomes like Judges 21:25, “every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Anything goes. You choose what you consider is right and wrong. You pick your morality.
Life can’t be lived productively with an “anything goes” mentality. Even sport games have rules to govern the play; otherwise, it’s just a meaningless free for all. God has given us rules to guide our lives, to protect us, to give purpose to living.
Without those rulescommandments--it’s just a meaningless free for all.
God created us, and as Creator, He knows what makes us function best.
He knows what is good for us and what isn’t, and what produces happy for us is His rules of the game. Toss those rules and all hell will break loose in your life and in society.
Many in America want this nation to forget God, and many of our leaders do just that. But God promises that hell will be what is reaped if He is forgotten.
